UNDERSTANDING THE REMISSION OF SINS 2

Acts 3: 22-26 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. 24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. 25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities . Peter being a good student of Jesus in his sermon referenced the prophecies of the prophets about Christ. In his admonition for repentance, he try to draw the attention of the people to an already fulfilled prophecy in the pers...

UNDERSTANDING THE REMISSION OF SINS 1

Image
Acts 3: 19 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord”.  The word repent here is  metanoeo  in the Greek which means  change of mind . Repentance therefore is a function of perception. Peter speaking in his sermon said change your mind. The people he spoke to had something else in mind about the miracle he had just performed at the beautiful gate. Peter before this statement above realized the ignorance there present and he said repent speaking to the people. Acts 3: 12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people,  “Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to...

WHEN IS A MAN SAVED 4

Let  us  examine  two  other  scenarios  where  the gospel  was  preached  in  the  book  of  Acts. Paul  and  the  Jailor: Acts 16:30 And  brought  them  out,  and  said, Sirs,  what  must  I  do  to  be  saved? they  said,  belie Vs  31 And ve  on  the  Lord  Jesus  Christ, and  thou  shalt  be  saved,  and  thy  house Notice  Paul  and  Silas’s  response  to  the  Jailor was  not  explanatory,  thus,  the  Jailor  and  his house  could  not  have  been  saved  in Verse  31 . Also,  the  response  was  only  to  him,  his household was not  in  view  here. However,  in Verse  32 ,  Luke  recor...

WHEN IS A MAN SAVED 3

To  understand  at  what  a  point  a  man  is  saved,  it is  pertinent  to  firstly  examine  how  a  man  is saved. Recall  that  Paul  explained  how  a  man  is  saved  in his  epistle  to  the  Church  at  Rome. Romans  10:8 nigh  thee, eve But  what  saith  it?  The  word  is n in  thy  mouth,  and  in  thy heart:  that  is,  the  word  of  faith,  which  we preach; Vs  9 That  if  thou  shalt  confess  with thy  mouth  the  Lord  Jesus,  and  shalt  believe in  thine  heart  that  God  hath  raised  him  from the  dead,  thou  shalt  be  saved. Vs  10 For  with the...

WHEN IS A MAN SAVED 2

Faith  in  Christ  is  receiving  from,  not  giving  to Christ! John  1:12 But  as  many  as  received  him,  to them  gave  he  power  to  become  the  sons  of God,  even  to  them  that  believe  on  his  name: Believing  is  not  giving  but  receiving! In  salvation,  a  man  receives  life  by  faith  in  the gospel  alone. John He (the  Father)  gave  life  and  we  ONLY  received! We are His  workmanship! Ephesians  2:8 through  fait For  by  grace  are  ye  saved h;  and  that  not  of  yourselves: is] the  gift  of  God: Vs  9 any  man  should  boast. [it Not  of  works,  lest Vs  10 For...

WHEN IS A MAN SAVED 1

The  question  as  touching  when  a  man  is  saved is  very  crucial  and  must  not  be  taken  lightly.  In reality,  some  believers  do  not  know  or  cannot exactly  tell  when  they  got  saved.  Sad  enough, some  cannot  even  explain  in  s imple  terms  what it  means  to  be  saved.  This obviously is a  product of  being  exposed  to  the  wrong  kind  of  teaching. Paul’s  prayer  for  Philemon  is  very  instructive:  Philemon  1:6 That  the  communication  of thy  faith  may  become  effectual  by  the acknowledging of  every  good  thing  which is in  you  in  Christ  Jesus.   ...

ARMOR OF GOD

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand" (EPHESIANS 6:13). The word armor appears 41 times in both testaments of the Bible and generally implies weapon for warfare. It is either borne by the user or an aide, called armor bearer. In the New Testament it is called: armor of light, and gospel armor. According to Rick Joyner, "The entire Church age has been one of spiritual warfare, and that warfare is increasing as we approach the end of this age". All Christian soldiers must bear the armor and fight in the deadly warfare against the powers of darkness. You cannot stay neutral. (Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:3-4). The Christian warfare is spiritual, so we must fight with spiritual weapons to overcome the adversaries (2 Corinthians 10:3-4). The components of the armor include Truth, Righteousness, and the sword of the Spirit. There is no guarantee of safety for the unarmed ...
