ABIDE IN CHRIST
Christ is everything we need.
He is our Salvation, our Righteousness, our Love, our Joy, our Wisdom, our Power, our Victory, our Patience, our Life, and much more. Indeed, Christ is our all in all. Jesus Christ can be unto you of everything, so when you have Christ, you've it all.
How do we experience these things? We experience them as we abide in Christ. The Lord Jesus said, "Abide in Me, and I [will live out My life] in you." Our part is to abide in Him. His part is to do everything we need
How do I abide in Christ?
We abide in Christ by knowing we are in Christ: God Himself put us in Christ. Abiding in Christ is simply living in the truth of what God has done. One of the greatest secret of abiding in Christ is the deep conviction that we are nothing and Christ is everything. If we take the letter CHRIST away from the word CHRISTIAN, what do we have left? You have IAN which stands for I Am Nothing. Our Lord said, "Apart from Me, you can do nothing." That sentence establishes the fact that Christ is all and we must be always conscious of Him in us as everything we've.
We abide in Christ by loving Him. The Lord has given all His heart to us, and He wants all our heart, and He will not be satisfied until He gets it. Believers are lovers of God ad lovers of Christ. The Lord said, "As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you: abide in My Love" (John 15:9). Heaven is our home, but we are not there yet. Where are we to live now? We are to live in the love of God. The Bible says, "keeping yourself in the love of God... " (Jude 1:21)
The love of God centers in Christ Jesus. As we abide in Christ we are living in God's love.
We abide in Christ by obeying Him. The obedience the Lord commands is not legal obedience, but the obedience of Love. Christ's obedience to the Father was a delight to Him because of His love for His Father. Speaking of Christ, the Bible says, "I delight to do Your will, O My God: Your law is within my heart" (Psalm 40:8)
We abide in Christ by giving our all to Him. The secret of a life of close abiding in Christ is simply this: I give myself wholly to Christ, and I take Him wholly for myself. Christ says to us "My all for you all." As I give myself wholly to Christ, Christ gives Himself wholly to me. All that Christ is and all rhat He has becomes mine. I am abiding in Christ.
