DO I HANDLE OFFENSES ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD?

Life being what it is, we will always have problems, offenses, and personality conflicts. But it is a serious thing to hold a grudge or bitterness against someone. In the book of Matthew 5, the Lord tells us what to do if we have offended someone. We are to go to that person, confess our sin and ask for forgiveness. It is always good to confess our mistakes throughly without making excuses. Be sure the matter is settled to their satisfaction.

In Matthew 18, the Lord Jesus Christ tells us what to do if someone has offended us. We are not to talk to other people about it, but we are to go to the person who has offended us, tell him or her his offense and try and make things right. You see, what pleased God is certainly not what we esteem so great as the right thing to do, but what actually brings peace as instructed by Gods word.

To allow bitterness and unforgiveness to take root in our hearts and to poison our minds is tragic and inexcusable. God simply cannot use a person who has a bitter  unforgiving, spirit. But how blessed its when Gods people humble themselves just to make things right and are noble and magnanimous in their dealings with others.

Christ Jesus beared the shame of our sins, he denied himself for us to be set free from sin. The Bible says that God doesn't consider your prayers when you still hold someone guilty by any means or sort. So if God through Christ, condemned us not but freely justified us by His precious blood eternally, then we as believers ought to harm our minds with same mindset in forgiving one another.
